Crew Point

21 May 2014

As part of the club’s ongoing efforts to recruit new sailors into the sport (and new members into the club) HYC and ICRA are running the Crew Point initiative on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Crew Point is essentially a method of matching boats who need crew with crew who need boats.

Here’s how it works; on Tuesday and Wednesday club race-nights between 1800 and 1830 and Saturday from 1200 to 1300 there will be a volunteer at the Marina Office. If you have space/need for crew, let him or her know:

  1. Your name
  2. The boat name
  3. Where she (the boat!) is
  4. How many spaces available

Arriving sailors will be allocated and sent to the boat.

There is no commitment, on either side, to permanent crew slots but something beautiful could grow...

For this to work, we need your help, much as you might need the crew, so please get involved.

To start with, the volunteer will be Feargal Kinsella. If you don’t know who he is, he’ll be the one sitting down.
