Commodore Breda Dillon presents a painting by Alan McLeod of Howth Lighthouse to John Bennett to mark his retirement from HYC

John thanked the large gathering of members and staff who attended his retirement party at HYC. 

Many years ago John started his career in the St Laurence Hotel, then moved to HYC, in which he worked in the bar for the past 44 years. He was Chief Steward for a number of years. He was also treasurer of the Ireland's Eye Golf Society since it started 22 years ago.
