Orla was commissioned by Ian Malcolm to be built by the French sailing school 'Skol Ar Mor' in Brittany in 2016 and she was completed in July 2017. She was named in honour and memory of Ian's sister Orla Ennis and the boat was officially launched by Orla's daughter Stephanie.  See gallery of the build here and a pictorial record of the launch at Howth Yacht Club here.
