Optimist Kish Fleet Sailing
Introducing a new level of sailing in HYC...

It has become apparent that there is now an elite group of sailors who are HYC members and to date there has not been a program at an adequately high level for them through the club. That is now changing.
-
There are potentially up to 20 sailors at a high standard in the Optimist Fleet who are members of HYC
-
Need a core program through the club to meet the training needs of these sailors
-
Promote club-based sailing to sustain the needs of sailors over time
-
In these times of Coronavirus, there is a more urgent need to access high level training in Ireland
A High Quality Program
The Kish program aims to further develop the high-level skills already existing in the Optimist Fleet. It is an elite level added above the existing Baily fleet. It aims to deliver excellence in race training and skill development with top level coaches, working towards and culminating at Trials 2021. It is a forum to develop a life-long love of sailing and friendships. Training can optionally be augmented through attending IODAI squad training / ISA training / International Coaching and Events
Numbers
Potentially there are up to 20 or more, sailors who may be interested in this programShould a large proportion of these sign up, this will provide excellent comradery and skill development across the group Within the training, we aim for a ratio of 1:6 or less
