New Biodiversity Officer at HYC

Howth Yacht Club is delighted to welcome Sarah Robertson on board in the new role of Biodiversity Officer at the club - a first for sailing clubs in Ireland.
With close to 20 years experience working in the area of environmental consultancy Sarah happily combines her love for sailing with her life-long career in protecting our marine environment. In her real life Sarah is a Principal Environmental Consultant with one of Ireland’s leading environmental consultancy firms, and in her personal life is never happier than when she is out on the water sailing.
Sarah has vast experience working in the environmental field in impact assessment, EIAR, EPA licensing, environmental masterplans, urban planning, waste management, environmental auditing, specialist ecological surveys, AA screening and Natura Impact Statements. Sarah holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, a Master’s Degree in Marine Environmental Protection and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering, and has worked in Ireland, the UK, and the USA. Sarah currently races the family puppeteer (Snowgoose) and a Melges 15 (Snoopy), and dabbles around on her paddle board whenever she can find the time.
Sarah looks forward to developing the role and engaging with members on the important area of biodiversity at Howth Yacht Club.
