Golf Clubs
Deerpark public golf course is within walking distance of Howth
Marina. Golf clubs may be hired for the pitch and putt, 18 and 9
hole golf courses. There are also two private clubs on the
peninsula, Howth Golf Club and Sutton Golf Club.
Tennis
There are public tennis courts within walking distance. They are
situated near Deerpark Golf Club.
Walks And Beaches
Howth has some of the most beautiful walks on the east coast of
Ireland which you can not afford to miss. They include the cliff
walk and the magnificent gardens of Howth Castle.
There are two main beaches in Howth, the Claremount and the
Burrow beach. In the interest of safety consult the local
Lifeguard regarding currents and conditions.
Travel
The Dart (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) which is approximately 4
minutes walk from the Yacht Club will take you to the city centre
within half an hour. Trains leave every 10 to 15 minutes.
Cross-Channel Ferries to and from Dun Laoghaire are serviced by
the Dart.
The Dart also services the city's main bus station Busaras where
buses to Dublin Airport and all provincial centres are
available.
A bus service to the city centre and Sutton Cross is available
locally.
Taxis may be contacted locally or through major taxi firms.
Car hire details are available from the Marina Office.
Tourist Offices
The nearest tourist office is located in Swords. Alternatively you can visit the tourist office in the city centre.
Places of Worship
Most denominations are catered for on the peninsula.
Times of church services are available locally.
Medical
In case of an emergency call 999 and ask for the service you
require.
There are chemists in Howth village and Sutton Cross.
Doctors can be contacted through the Marina Office.
Racing
Howth Yacht Club is one of the premier racing clubs on the east
coast. If you are interested in racing with one of the fleets,
please do not hesitate to contact the relevant class Captain.

Shopping and Provisioning
Within the Howth, Sutton vicinity, visitors should find shops to
supply most of their needs. These include supermarkets, off
licences, newsagents, fish shops, boutiques, hardware, gift
shops, butchers, bread shops etc.
Fish
Howth is one of the major fishing villages on the east coast of
Ireland, where fresh fish is landed every day. Fish may be
purchased from the many retail outlets of the West Pier.
Repairs And Chandlery
The marina Office can provide the telephone numbers of a variety
of services including, sail-makers, chandlers, fiber glass
experts, electronic engineers, riggers, mechanics, divers etc.
Hotels And Restaurants
Howth is renowned for its excellent restaurants, particularly
fish restaurants where fresh fish is served daily.
There are a number of take-away outlets within walking distance
of the Clubhouse.
Local Hotels provide services which include restaurants,
accommodation and discotheques.
Pubs
There are many local houses in the Howth area, some providing
very good traditional Irish music.
Banks And Post Offices
There is a post office which is open until 17.30. weekdays and to
lunchtime on Saturday. Howth village has a bank which is open
during normal banking hours.
