This was a very successful outing with 27 players and 30 attending the dinner. The weather held up quite well, considering the very wet conditions we have experienced this year. However there was very heavy rain in the latter part of the round, with some distant thunder heard.
The scoring was very good, especially by the winner - Ian Baird - who won his second outing of the year with a magnificent score of 41 points. Ian was also the recipient of the Alan Hines Perpetual Trophy, which was donated to the Society by Conor Murphy, in memory of our former member and secretary. Olive Coyle - Alan's mother-in-law, presented the Trophy to Ian.
The Society, with Andy Knowles at the helm, had three excellent outings so far this year. The Captain's Prize and Turkey Outing will be held in Sutton Golf Club on Friday 10th October.
Results are under 'Fixtures'

The long awaited and eagerly anticipated (and also long overdue!) final of the 2007 Singles Matchplay Championship was played at Deerpark Golf Club in mid July.
Bernardine Jennings won a very exciting and close competition against Michael Martin 2 up and 1 to play.
The standard of the golf was excellent, with Bernardine estimating that her stableford score for the round was in the region of 36 points.

Correction in Golf News - 17th July below :
It was stated that in the final of the Mixed Foursomes Matchplay Championship Conor Murphy and Imelda McDonald would have choice of venue. In fact the final should be held either at a neutral venue, or at a venue acceptable to all the finalists.
