No racing was possible on Day 2 of the Etchells World Championship at HYC due to adverse weather conditions.
After a 3 hour delay because of heavy NW'ly winds the 42 boat fleet prepared for a 1600 hr start when the winds eased sufficiently. However, constant wind shifts caused problems for PRO David Lovegrove and his team and the first scheduled start had to be aborted a minute before the gun because of a significant wind shift.
A 15 minute postponement followed and then a heavy rain shower, which reduced visibility dramatically, prevented a start before 1700 hrs.
However, with wind dropping - only 5 kts recorded at the windward mark - and with constant wind shifts, it was decided that racing could not continue.
The race programme has two races scheduled for Wednesday 25th.
