After last week I guess any sort of reasonable wind was going to be a welcome change, and although there was some concern expressed earlier in the week, conditions were as close to ideal for autumn as one could hope for.
Again we started on schedule in a SW breeze ranging from 12 to 15 knots. The larger weather mark made life a little easier and I had no complaints as to visibility this week.
Occasionally during the race we had 20k showing on our Tacktick wireless system (obtained with the assistance of Nicky Potterton), which did not overly stress anyone.
The Etchells were somewhat enthusiastic at the start resulting in a general recall. As is my custom the Black flag was used to get the next start away without a problem.
Etchells, Puppeteers, Squibs and 17 Footers heading for the finish line
The day was almost boringly predictable in getting everyone finished within the 2-hour target we set ourselves. The finish was a little hectic at times as most of the fleet finished in a period of about 10 minutes.
