Squib Champs Home

Cead Míle Failte

The Social programme planned for the national squib championships promises to provide a very Irish welcome to the competitors with plenty of fun and entertainment. Indeed, Cead Mile Failte is a Gaelic term which literally translated means a hundred thousand welcomes and with this in view, here is a flavour of the events planned for the week.

Sunday
A buffet dinner will be served in Howth Yacht Club with light entertainment being provided by local band, "Avalon".

Monday - The Howth Peninsula Challenge
The competitive spirit of the event continues off the water with a treasure hunt around the various hostelries and antiquities of Howth. Finger food will be served in HYC after the event.

Alternatively, golfing enthusiasts may play a round of golf at local course, Deerpark www.deerpark-hotel.ie/golf.

Tuesday - Irish Night
Craic agus ceol (fun & music) in the form of an Irish session. A traditional Irish dinner will be served in the restaurant of Howth Yacht Club following which music & entertainment will be provided by an Irish Ceili band.

Wednesday - The Old Jamesons Distillery Tour
The Old Jameson Distillery was originally built in 1780, and was once considered one of the largest and finest distilleries in the world. It has been recreated to it's former glory and is now an award winning visitor centre. The distillery is located in the heart of Dublin, Ireland's thriving capital city. Coaches will depart from Howth Yacht Club.

Thursday - Carribean Party Night
Barbeque and disco with a distinct Caribbean theme - please come dressed appropriately!

Friday - Gala Dinner and Prizegiving
A spectacular grand finale to the week with dancing to the music of Big Band, Route 66.
