| Family Membership |
Following the changes to annual subscription levels in December 2012, 'Family Membership' of Howth Yacht Club is now a very attractive proposition for many members and potential members alike.
Family Membership allows one Ordinary, one Associate and unlimited Junior Memberships for the same family.
With the ongoing plans to provide more benefits to HYC members including hospitality discounts, new sailing and powerboat courses, the provision of the J80s and additional social events notwithstanding the success of the Junior Sailing Courses and the top class activities and facilities that are already in place.
The new annual 'Family Membership' rate of  1000 will attract many more families next year and the club expects a significant increase in this recently introduced category. See

| Ordinary Member |
| Is open to anyone aged 26 to 65 years of age. |
| |
| Senior Member |
| Is open to anyone who is over 65 years of age and has been an ordinary member of Howth Yacht Club for 10 years. |
| |
| Associate Member |
| is open to candidates who are spouses, widows or widowers of Honorary, Senior or Ordinary Members. |
| |
| Country Member |
| is open to candidates who are resident outside a radius of 60 Kilometres of Howth or who are voting members of any Yacht Club with which Howth Yacht Club has a reciprocal membership agreement.

| is open to candidates whose principal residence is outside the Island of Ireland. |

| Cadet |
| is open to candidates over 18 years of age and under 25 years of age. |

| Junior |
| is open to candidates under the age of 18 years. |

| Special Member |
| Is open to applicants who do not fit into any of the above categories. |
| |
| Introductory Member |
| Is open to anyone who wants to come and crew/sail at the club and/or try out membership and is designed to lead potential members into one of the other categories. |

| Entrance Fee |
| Currently there is no entrance fee. |
| |
| General Conditions |
Every candidate for Ordinary, Associate, Cadet or Country Membership must be 18 years of age or over (Candidates for Junior Membership must be under the age of 18), and must be proposed and seconded by an Ordinary, Honorary or Senior Member, both of whom he or she has been personally known for at least one year, and such candidate must also be known to and recommended by a member of the General Committee.
Completed application form, together with letter of recommendation from proposer, and in the case of Ordinary Membership, a cheque to cover the entrance fee, shall be sent to the Honorary Secretary. Application forms can be found under the forms section.
Nominations are first approved by the General Committee at its next meeting, and following a period on display for the members, are reviewed again at the following meeting at which any objections are considered. |
