  Review of the 2011 Season

We had five outings in 2011 starting in St Annes on April 29 followed by Castleknock in June, Portmarnock Links and Howth in September and finally Sutton in October.

The outing in Howth was a 'fun day' with prizes for everyone (a bit like Santa!). The competition format was a three-person scramble and did provide a lot of fun. The winning team consisted of three members of a class of the 1950's from Belvedere College - Billy Morgan, Michael Doody and Matt Murphy!

When I look back over the year, I immediately think of the great support that I got from all the members. There was a great sense of enjoyment in participating in the outings irrespective of how well or poorly people played. We were lucky with the weather which was an added bonus.

I also think of some of our great supporters over the years that could not play this year but we look forward very much to seeing them back playing in 2012.

Lastly, I want to thank our Committee, on behalf of all of us, for their wonderful support throughout the year.

Outing to St. Annes - 29th April

Our first outing for 2011 took place in St. Anne's on the 29th of April. My choice of date was rather unfortunate, as a certain member of the Royal family in the UK had also chosen that date for nuptials.

We went ahead notwithstanding and had an excellent outing.

In all, we had 29 competitors and 24 stayed on afterwards in St. Anne's for dinner and prize giving.
