'PAB Travel' again supports Brass Monkeys Spring Series |
|
The first race in the six-race Brass Monkeys Spring Series starts on Sunday 29th January, with boats competing in Classes 1, 2 and 3, and, yet again, the event will be generously sponsored by PAB Travel, the long-established travel agency based in Middle Abbey Street.
A loyal supporter of the Brass Monkeys for many years, PAB Travel is renowned as a specialist in group and coach tours in Ireland, Britain and Europe (including pilgrimages).
Following the pre-Christmas 2011 series, the company sponsored the New Year's Day race and Family Day in aid of Howth Lifeboat. The event exceeded all expectations by raising a remarkable 1910.
The Brass Monkeys Spring Series will provide five races on Sunday mornings (from January 29th), finishing with the sixth and final race and prize-giving lunch on Saturday 3rd March. A non-spinnaker division will operate within each of the three classes. The organising team of Pat Connolly, Brian Murphy, David Appleyard and Roy Glynn are expecting entries from Malahide, Skerries, Clontarf and Dun Laoghaire and race management will be in the hands of Race Officer Susan Cummins and her team.
The entry fee is 30 and sailing instructions will be available from the Marina Office on Saturday 28th January after 1500hrs.
