Due to a very poor response being received from cruising group members (with a total of three persons only responding) and having spoken to Kevin Crothers, I have decided to defer the trip up the Newry Canal until some more advantageous time. In the meantime there has been an expression of interest in availing of the August bank holiday weekend to take part in a cruise.
The idea at the moment, weather permitting, is for any interested boats to meet up in Ardglass on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend (i.e. Sat the 30th July). There is no fixed arrangements for the evening and if desired all attending boats and crews can meet either for drinks and or a meal as desired. Ardglass has been chosen due to its proximity to Carlingford and Strangford Loughs as some attending may wish to cruise in this area of that weekend. Peel is also a possible destination achievable from Ardglass again weather allowing.
In the event that the weather is clement and we can get away North then I look forward to meeting up with you in Ardglass on the Saturday. Anyone thinking of making the trip can let me know by the usual means.
