Outgoing Commodore, Peter McKenna, thanked all who supported him and his team over the past two years. He commented ...
I enjoyed the challenge. It was great to receive encouragement from members, many of whom offered very good ideas on the way forward.
The main task was to manage change in these difficult times. We succeeded to a greater degree but that would not have been possible without the enthusiasm, diligence and drive of the members of the General Committee.
Throughout the two years the policy of the General Committee has been to endeavour to tackle matters as they arose and that included the financial well being of the Club.
We have reduced costs and experienced falling revenues. The task of the incoming committee will be to cope with any future falling revenues.
On the sailing side we had a great year. Four years ago we started an intensive marketing campaign which resulted in a very busy season this year including the 'BOAT of HOPE' for the Variety Club of Ireland. This intensive activity is likely to continue into 2011. These open events keep HYC to the forefront of sailing, both in Ireland and abroad.
On the development front we have received full planning permission from Fingal County Council for our proposed marina extension and the relocation of the breakwater. We now await the responses from DAFF on our various applications.
Peter then thanked the staff in all departments for their support during his term in office.

At the close of the meeting incoming Commodore, Roger Cagney, thanked all the members who attended the AGM.
He then welcomed the incoming Flag Officers and General Committee members and thanked the outgoing committee members which he worked with last year.
He defined the main issues to be addressed over the next two years and will update the members regularly on progress.
He concluded by wishing everyone complements of the season, a Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.
