This is a free service which is open to anyone to place an ad and you can place more than one ad if you wish. Please note that only ads for boats and related equipment will be accepted in this section. Notices for training courses or other such facilities should not be posted here. Placing an Ad You need to register as a New Advertiser in order to place an ad. You need to have cookies enabled in order to work within the registration section and place your ad. If you have difficulty registering please read Viewing the Site (in the "Website Info" section) where details for enabling your computer to accept cookies are explained. On submission of the Registration Form the system issues you with a username and password. Once you see that, just follow the screen instructions and place your ad. Please note this username and password as you can use them to logon later and manage your ad's display period, view the number of hits your ad has received and that sort of thing. If you currently have an ad in the system you don't need to re-register to place another ad. Ad Display Duration Buy & Sell automatically controls each advertisement duration without intervention by the webmaster. If an advertiser does nothing after placing an ad, then it is handled in three stages as follows .... Stage 1. The ad is displayed on the public ads list for 2 months. Stage 2. The ad is removed from the public ad list, but is held on the system for 2 months. Stage 3. The ad and the advertiser's details are removed from the system. However, before the system carries out any of its functions, it warns the advertiser by auto email so that you can over-ride, within certain limits, its planned action. This works in practice as follows .... Stage 1 - 2 Months When an ad is created it is designated as Active and is displayed for 2 months. Stage 2 - 2 Months Then the system automatically makes the ad Inactive and it is no longer displayed on the public ads list. The advertiser is warned by auto email 1 week in advance of this change, so you can logon and reset the ad status to Active and it is again displayed for a futher 2 months. An ad can be displayed indefinately by this process. Incidentally, you don't have to wait for the auto email warning to reset your ad status, just logon and repost your ad at any time and the display period recommences from that date. Stage 3 If an advertiser does nothing during Stage 2 - the 2 months when an ad is Inactive - then at the end of this period the system automatically deletes the ad - and if the advertiser has only that one ad then the advertiser details are also deleted. However, the system warns the advertiser by auto email 1 week before taking this action, so you can logon and reset the ad to ..... Active - if you want to reshow it on the public list, or Inactive - if you want to retain the ad on the system, but not show it for a while.
